Is not the Isle of Man currently free of Covid?
If our Glorious Leaders get their $||!+ together, then the vaccine process could be quite quick. The Russkies vaccinated about five million people in little more than a week in 1960 (smallpox), surely the West can beat that sixty years later?

The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown dependency. Whilst it is one of the British Isles it is not a part of the United Kingdom nor is it subject UK governance.

Inoculation against smallpox predates 1796, e.g. Catherine the Great of .... er... Russia, in the 1760s. The Turks were at it before then.

If our Glorious Leaders get their $||!+ together..... One can only lay so much blame at the doorstep of their "glorious leaders". I would argue that the citizenry needs to step up, a gubmint can do anything they wish but if people choose to believe there isn't any sort of problem and continue to ignore the realities of the pandemic, we will continue to see cancellations and shut downs. Apparently, the organizers of the TT see the problem as being serious enough and believe fervently enough that there will STILL be a health threat to racers and fans IN JUNE 2021- a full 7 months ahead of their event, that they've cancelled.

The trouble is the event needs pre booking of accommodation normally about now, if the vaccine program in the UK does not progress to plan then a lot of bookings of accommodation and ferries will need to be cancelled and refunded. The other factor is the riders, they need a racing licence and the pre TT runup of road racing in Ireland, without that they come to the island with not enough recent racing miles and prone to making mistakes. As the Island is covid free and intends to stay that way I can't see a way round it unless the booking was put off until April. The Classic TT in Aug is a much better bet, not sure why they don't use those dates for the TT instead.

I doubt if the Glorious Leaders on the IOM would be prepared to risk the influx of foreigners associated with motorcycle racing until the risk of Covid 19 is minimal.
